Things you need to know

The Divine Chapel of Love offers a place for weddings, renewal of vows and ceremonies for couples who wish to commemorate their special occasion in a beautiful surrounding to form lasting memories where Love is All That Matters.

We invite you to share in the joy of traditional and non-traditional ceremonies, regardless of background religious or spiritual affiliations or sexual orientation. We customize each wedding unique to the desires and beliefs of the couple from traditional, sacramental weddings to Hand-fasting. All religious and spiritual paths can be incorporated with a range of affordable and elegant packages to choose from.

Ceremony Sites: The Center offers panoramic backdrops to make your ceremony a truly unique experience.  We have both indoor and outdoor options available and package pricing is available under our wedding link or by contacting our wedding coordinator to discuss all your wedding options and design your custom packages at   941-295-9333.       

Our Grand Reception Hall offers indoor seating for 100 guests, a beautifully appointed center stage sweetheart area draped with an elegant white fabric wall of lights.  There is  plenty of space for dancing, and extra space for a bar area, food and gift tables,  separate catering room, and Bridal & Groomsmen suites. 

Time Allowances: Wedding ceremony only in Chapel is limited to 2 hour time allotment. Since we often have more than one wedding on the same day, it is important that the wedding is on time.  A 2  1/2 hour window of time will be allotted for each wedding which will allow time for check in and out of the venue with the wedding manager.

Full venue rental includes use of  fully decorated indoor Chapel & air-conditioned Grand Reception Hall and/or use of Outdoor Garden Patio and lawn by the Lake for larger weddings  is limited to an (8) hour time allotment*.  

Please keep this in mind when planning your guest arrival, ceremony time, flower/rental deliveries, photos, and clean-up.  We will make every effort to work with you regarding the schedule; however, we must respect the schedule of other services at the Chapel. Additional Decorations for weddings and clean-up must be completed within your time frame. *Additional time is available for a discounted rental fee.

Food & Beverage:  All food and beverages must be provided by an licensed and insured caterer. We offer a separate catering room and a small kitchen for prep, and a designated bar area inside the Grand Reception Hall.  We are happy to provide a list of catering partners in the area to chose from to make you day special.

 

Decorations & Favors: Decorations, displays, and signage brought into any area of the grounds must be approved prior to arrival.  Items may not be attached to any wall, floor, window or ceiling with nails, staples, tape or any other material so that we may prevent damage to the fixtures and furnishings.  In addition, all guest favors are the responsibility of the guest to bring in and take upon the function’s conclusion.  There is a $150 cleaning fee for removing any excess decorations.  Labor fees may apply for excessive decoration set-up or removal.

 

Birdseed, Rice, Bubbles and Rose Petals:  Throwing of birdseed, rice and rose petals for ceremonies or receptions is not permitted to keep the facilities clean and to prevent harm to any wildlife. 

 

Audio Visual: Audio Visual equipment and services are available upon request.  A full selection is available.

 

Entertainment: All entertainment (Bands/DJ’s) must conclude by 10:00pm.  This policy is in accordance with local noise ordinances in the area. 

 

Guarantee: a final attendance count is to be provided 10 working days prior to the event.  This will be considered your minimum guaranteed number of guests that will be planning to attend the event.  If no guarantee is given, the original “expected number” will be set up for you in the chapel. 

 

Deposits and Final Payment: a non-refundable $100 deposit is required to book a date on a definite basis, of which all will be applied towards your contract. A booking is not considered complete until a 50% deposit is collected along with a signed contract, and initial contract completion with the event coordinator at time of booking. A final balance will be collected 10 working days prior to your event. Changes made to your contract will be expected along the way, and may require additional funds to be collected to maintain 50% deposit up until 10 days prior to your event, in which all final decisions must be completed with the wedding coordinator.

Marriage License: A marriage license can be obtained at any County Clerk of Court.  The local offices are located at:

Marriage licenses are obtained at the Clerk of the Circuit Court, Marriage License Division.  The license is valid for 60 days. There is no waiting period for non-residents of Florida \nor blood tests. The cost varies by county, but usually is around $90-95. Florida residents have a choice of a three day waiting period or attending a four hour class.  The Sarasota County Clerk of the Circuit Court accepts cash or personal checks. Some courthouses will take credit cards. Identification with a photograph (i.e. driver's license or passport) and your Social Security card is required, as well as the date any previous marriages ended. Couples will need to go to the Court House together. Bring the license to the ceremony so the witnesses (not required) and the officiant can sign it. The license will be mailed back to the Court House so the marriage can be registered with the State of Florida.
